Event Description:
Join the Tustin Chamber for a Ribbon Cutting for Grandma's House of Hope. They are a non-profit organization Santa Ana. A little bit of info from their company, From 2004-2010, GHH evolved from an emergency shelter with 10 beds specializing in recovery and addiction, to a 24-month transitional housing program, providing supportive services with a goal of self-sufficiency and permanent housing. The program now offers case management, group and individual counseling, meals, and workforce development. In addition, they are provided with medical referrals, basic job search and training assistance, wardrobe assistance, daily meals, and a place to live that is safe and stable. GHH welcomes hard-to-place cases, lifting the emphasis of the issue and focusing on the individuals specific needs, such as serious illness or treatments, that may make it difficult for them to qualify for other programs. For example, this includes women fighting breast cancer, victims of human trafficking, and women struggling with mental illness such as dual-diagnosis. The women in the program are taught that acceptance, support, and respect are the building blocks of successful relationships. GHH also offers the Nana’s Kidz program, which serves over 300,000 meals annually to 345 kids in Orange County that are currently living in motels. GHH has recently added Hope Works!, which offers workforce development services for participants in our Transitional Housing program, as well as clients of the Nana’s Kidz program. Through services to each other and their community, women become empowered and achieve independence, accountability, and spiritual growth.
